Terms of service.

1. The service
ChessUrge provides chess analysis, play, puzzles, a game library, achievements and community features. Features may change during beta. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address, verify it, and keep your credentials secure. One person per account. You are responsible for activity under your session. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
- No cheating, engine assistance in rated human games, or manipulation of ratings.
- No harassment, hate, spam, illegal content or attempts to break the service.
- No scraping at a rate that degrades service, no resale of analysis, no shared accounts.
- No uploading of games or content you do not have the right to share.
4. Credits
Credits are a prepaid unit for analysis and bot games. They have no cash value outside ChessUrge, are not transferable, and do not expire. Prices are shown in USD; 500 credits cost $1 and one credit buys up to 200 million engine nodes. Free credits may be adjusted or removed for abuse.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Taxes may apply. All credit purchases are final and are not refundable or cancellable once completed, as described in our refund policy. Credits are delivered to your account immediately after payment confirmation; see delivery and cancellation. If an analysis fails because of a platform error, the affected credits are restored automatically. Chargebacks may result in suspension until resolved.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of your games, messages and uploads. You grant ChessUrge a limited licence to store, display and process that content to operate the service. Public content may be viewed by others; you choose what to publish.
7. Moderation
We may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that break these terms or endanger other users. Where practical, we explain why. Appeals go to admin@chessurge.org.
8. Disclaimers
ChessUrge is provided “as is”. Engine evaluations are informational, not guarantees of correctness. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Kolkata, West Bengal have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
